BHP-Microsoft AI collab on copper recovery BHP (ASX: BHP) and Microsoft are collaborating on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve copper recovery and optimise concentrator performance at the Escondida operation in Chile, the world’s largest copper mine. Using real-time plant data in combination with AI-based recommendations from Microsoft’s Azure platform, Escondida concentrator operators will have the ability to adjust operational variables that affect ore processing and grade recovery.
