Can SVD follow Greatland Gold’s footsteps in Paterson Province?

Can SVD follow Greatland Gold’s footsteps in Paterson Province?

Investors are rushing into gold stocks as the precious metal continues to hit new highs. The gold price is now above AU$2,000/oz, for the first time ever, and it seems to have plenty more in the tank with forecasters tipping a rise to US$3,000/oz within a year. Just like the gold price, Western Australia’s Paterson Province is taking centre stage. Heavyweights Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO), Newcrest Mining (ASX: NCM), and IGO Ltd (ASX: IGO) each have a slice of prospective ground in this booming WA gold province and cash is pouring into the region. Outside of the ASX, one of the biggest gold stories out of the Paterson Province is that of London-listed Greatland Gold’s (AIM: GGP) Havieron discovery, which...

Fraser Range nickel junior commences drilling program

DRILLING is underway at Galileo Mining Ltd.’s (ASX: GAL) Fraser Range Nickel Belt tenements, which are highly prospective for nickel-copper sulphide deposits similar to the operating Nova mine. Anticipation ahead of the drilling program has been building with the company’s share price gaining more than 50% in July alone: investor attention has tuned into the Fraser Range, along with Galileo’s highly prospective nickel targets. The commencement of Galileo’s drilling program is lining up nicely with nickel price forecasts. Research firm Wood Mackenzie anticipates nickel consumption in electric vehicle batteries to soar 64% by 2025 from 2019 levels. Supporting that view is Elon Musk’s call last week for a lift in the mining and production of nickel. Musk said Tesla will...

GTR’s early move to USA uranium puts it ahead of the pack

As investors cotton on to the generally positive movements in the uranium price, the outlook for uranium explorers and producers is also improving. GTi Resources (ASX: GTR) first came to investors’ attention in April this year, following the announcement that it was in possession of a number of past producing uranium and vanadium properties located in Utah, USA and would start its maiden drill program at the highly prospective Jeffrey Project. In March/April, this company was an unknown microcap stock priced below 1c, but with momentum in the story over May, the company’s share price ran to over 5 cents. It has since retreated to 2.7 cents. However the company’s project is more advanced than back in May and could...

Is uranium the next commodity to run? $4.6M ASX micro cap explorer GTi Resources looks highly leveraged

Is uranium the next commodity to run? $4.6M ASX micro cap explorer GTi Resources looks highly leveraged

In September 2019, the World Nuclear Association produced a report modelling a predicted divergence in the supply and demand curve globally for uranium. The report showed demand outstripping supply from 2023. In other words, there is a looming uranium supply and demand mismatch and the Association believes the uranium industry is only a couple of years away from firing again, leaving behind fears of another Fukushima. There is reason to be positive about nuclear energy: it could play a crucial role in the decarbonisation of the world. Such is the shift in thinking around nuclear’s role to combat climate change, that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is making the rounds in Washington to persuade the US Congress to spend billions of...
